Be glad of life because it gives you the chance to love, to work, to play, and to look up at the stars.

    - Henry Van Dy-ke

Someone close to me once asked why I ever got the bright idea to join the service, honestly I did so because I really had no interest in life what so ever at the time. Unfortunately I don't believe we need to be fighting a war overseas right now. Don't dare say I do not support our troops in any way, not the case, but why have a battle overseas when teenagers are getting pregnant more here, per year then there are being homeless? Instead of buying bombers for billions of dollars at a time we need to take care of the home grown folks first. Let some kid grow up to see the stars before you ship him off to battle, after all, there is talk of a draft coming about. Thats all we really need, some kid not sure of himself mentally going to a place where he has yet to see except in mock in a video game. I myself have finally come to peace in life, my only goals to live by a beach, work a few hours a week and enjoy the comforts of home where I can cook, watch some television and read quietly. If you truely believe your life is in turmoil then perhaps you should look at your life in a mirror, understand whats bothering you, because I sure have figured out because of my past its no better overseas then home. I suffer more at home then I did then. I have accepted this fact, only reason I remain peaceful with myself.

I would have to almost agree with you on all your points. Your goals of the beach and a couple hours of work is definately a goal of mine as well. The military part i half agree on only for the fact that i believe that instead of billions of dollars go to buy those bombers i would use half that amount and use the other half to use toward the "home grown folks". Our country needs to learn to balance out war with peace. We have been in a war overseas for so long that if we withdrawal now we would need our defenses high for our own protection. If we took the money away from that it wouldn't make such a difference if we were helping our home grown folks with a better life if they were going to get killed before they had one. It's a two-edged sword that none of us can escape.
